The Electron Controls CAN Mini I/O Interface enables interaction between CAN bus signals/messages and real-world signals or devices.
Whether it is a simple switch, warning light, or indicator or perhaps something more complex such as a frequency input or output, wheel speed sensors, thermocouples, etc... the CAN Mini I/O can handle the job.
CAN data can be fed to other devices, such as an ECU. Input signals can be broadcast on the CAN bus in a message format.
Typical Application:
The Mini I/O Interface reads RX-8 ABS wheel speed data from the vehicle's 500k CAN bus and outputs a frequency signal (which simulates a raw wheel speed sensor signal) to a Bosch Motorsport ECU. As an option, any of the four wheel speeds can be output, or perhaps the average of the two front wheels, or the higher of the two.
Passing the data to the dashboard allows for accurate pit speed limiter operation in any gear.
The CAN Mini I/O is housed in a compact enclosure (2.5 x 1.6 x 1.2 inches) for easy installation.
